Feathers

Inspired by the Birds of Prey I had the pleasure of working with and came to know and love, painting on their moulted feathers was a natural development in my working process.

Not exclusive to birds of prey, other animals and birds feature on my feather paintings, but there is nothing more special than painting one of my favourite birds on one of its own moulted feathers. These days, the majority of feathers I paint on are collected during my daily dog walks in the local countryside or given to me by friends who also collect them for me.

I welcome feather commissions – click here to read more.

Due to customs restrictions, Real Feathers cannot be posted outside the UK and Europe.

The collection below focuses on birds of prey and also includes Bee-Eaters, inspired by a Safari I took in Zambia in September 2017.

Due to the material, feather purchases are restricted to the UK and Europe only. To overcome these restrictions, I have evolved new techniques to create imagery using feathers which have proved a real success. View the collection Painted Feathers here.
